Imphal, May 24: Shamjetsabam Sarjubala entered quarter final at the ongoing AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships Astana 2016. The world number 2 boxer defeated Kaluhath Erandigasi of Sri Lanka, who defeated Barabkai Virginia of Hungary in the first bout of Women’s Light Fly (45-48 kg). She won the bout by 3-0.
In the quarter final, Sarjubala will meet world number 1 boxer Kyzaibay Nazym of host Kazakhstan. The two boxers have been in strong competition against each other since their early careers.
