The All India Congress Committee organised a Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan programme today at the Multipurpose Hall, Longmai-3, under Noney District Headquarters, with focus on strengthening the party’s organisational structure and initiating the process for election of the District Congress Committee (DCC) President.
The key highlight of the programme was the distribution of application forms to aspiring candidates for the post of District President. Party leaders informed that the forms were made available to all willing and eligible members to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.
The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan involves consultations with party workers and local leaders to identify suitable candidates for DCC leadership. The selected president is expected to play a significant role in reorganising the district unit and enhancing the party’s electoral preparedness.
The programme was attended by Yogesh YC, National Observer of the INC, and Syed Anwar Hussain, State Observer, in the presence of Gaikhangam Gangmei, CWC Member; Samuel Jendai, former MLA and Minister of Tamenglong Assembly Constituency; Kikhonbou, former MLA of Tamei Assembly Constituency; and social worker Adai Phaomei, who attended as special guests.
Addressing the gathering, the special guests expressed appreciation to the delegates and conveyed optimism about revitalising the party at the grassroots level. They underscored the importance of unity and active participation in strengthening the organisational framework.
Several Congress leaders, politicians, social workers and former ADC members from Tamenglong and Noney districts, along with leaders from surrounding villages, attended the programme. Around 150 party members participated in the meeting.
