Sanaleibak daily observes 41st Foundation Day

“Sanaleibak daily”, one of the oldest Imphal based vernacular daily today celebrates its 41st Foundation day Imphal Hotel.  The newspaper was first published on November 20 of 1973 and was edited by Yumnam Yaima Singh. Various publishers have been replaced and now a subsidiary branch of the UNACCO group has restarted publishing the newspaper in the most advance manner without stopping even a single day of publication in a year. G Achoubi Sharma, the present editor of the daily newspaper while speaking on the occasion credited the staffs and the publishers for the success of the newspaper.
Social Welfare Minister, AK Mirabai, who attended the foundation function as the Chief Guest stressed on the role of the media in developing the nation. She said that media is the backbone of the society and its main role is to bridge the gap between the people and government. AK Mirabai further said that having understood the importance of the media, the government has finally approved to strengthen the Directorate of Information and Public Relation by inducting more staffs and installing adequate infrastructures. 
President of the Manipur Badminton Association, Bijoy Koijam while speaking on the occasion appealed the journalist to be more active in the field of investigative journalist.
