Samurou families deprived of PDS Rice – Meira Paibi

Meira Paibi of Samurou Awang Leikai have accused the government of failing its responsibility, alleging that many families of Ward No. 22/4 and 22/5 have been denied their Public Distribution System (PDS) rice quota for over 100 days.
Speaking at the Manipur Press Club, local Meira Paibi said that Sapam Shilla said that families have stopped accepting PDS rice after being repeatedly denied their full entitled quota. She warned that the community will continue to reject the supplies unless the government ensures complete distribution.
She further said that despite raising the issue with the concerned department, no action or response has been taken so far. The Meira Paibi made it clear that their demand is not politically motivated but a call for the government to deliver on its basic duty of ensuring food security for the people.
