A press statement of Saivom Village Authority said that the press statement issued by Aimol Tribe Union, Manipur was baseless.
The Press Statement signed by Ating Christina Haokip, Chief of Saivom Village stated that the Saivom Village Authority condemned the act of Aimol Tribe Union, Manipur for vandalizing the houses and clarified that the houses were constructed by the villagers within the village boundary of Saivom Village land which was inherited by them since 1930s.
“The claimed made by the President of Aimol Tribe Union, Manipur that the said land belongs to Aimol Tirbe Common Land is baseless”, the statement added.
While advising the Presiding of Aimol Tribe to refer the historical records before making a press statement, the Village Chief further stated that the Saivom Village and Aimol villages had been living together in peace and harmony for many generations.
