The South Asian Institute of Rural & Agricultural Management (SAIRAM), Langjing Achouba, Imphal, organized a Technical and Support Bulletin Release Program at the institute’s library hall. The program aimed to provide practical academic resources to support students and faculty in agricultural research and extension activities.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. N. Olivia Devi, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology, who outlined the objectives of the program and encouraged students to contribute actively to the development of simple, useful academic resources.
The Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, and Heads of Departments jointly released ten technical bulletins prepared by three departments. The Department of Plantation, Spices and Medicinal Crops contributed two bulletins, the Department of Plant Pathology prepared five, and the Department of Entomology produced three bulletins. All bulletins were authored by M.Sc. students under the guidance of their faculty members.
The publications cover major diseases and pests affecting important crops in Manipur, and also include broader topics such as cropping systems, production techniques, and practical field guidance. These resources are designed to enhance academic learning, strengthen diagnostic skills, and assist students in preparing for practical classes, field visits, and training programs.
Professor H. S. Shekhar Sharma, Chief Guest, lauded the initiative, appreciating the effort and teamwork behind the bulletins. He encouraged all departments to continue producing practical materials that support both teaching and extension activities. Faculty members Dr. L. Brojendra Singh, Dr. N. Arunkumar Singh, Dr. Th. Jenita Devi, and Dr. Ph. Ibomcha Sharma also shared their remarks, commending the students and faculty for their dedication and collaborative effort in producing these valuable resources.
