Sachin Tendulkar tests positive, goes into home quarantine

Legendary cricketer and former India captain Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The cricket legend took to social media to confirm the news with all his followers.
He is currently in home isolation, the legendary cricketer said in a message on social media on Saturday. “I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure COVID-19 is kept at bay. However, I’ve tested positive today following mild symptoms. All others at home have tested negative. I’ve quarantined myself at home and am following all protocols as advised by my doctors. I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country Take care all of you”, Sachin wrote.
The highest single day spike
India recorded 62,258 new infections on Saturday, highest single day rise so far this year, registering a steady increase for the 17 th day in row. India’s recovery rate further dropped to 94.85 per cent. The nationwide COVID-19 tally reached 1,19,08,910, according to Union health ministry data updated on Saturday.
India’s total Active caseload reached 4,52,647, which stood at 3.8% of India’s total Positive Cases. A net incline of 31,581 cases recorded from the total active caseload in the last 24 hours.
Six States, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh continue to report a surge in the COVID daily new cases. 79.57% of the new cases were reported from these 6 states.
Fourteen States/UTs have not reported any COVID19 deaths in the last 24 hours. These are Assam, Odisha, Puducherry, Ladakh (UT), D&D & D&N, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Tripura,Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar islands, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
