The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) felicitated Vir Chakra awardee Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik at his residence in Keikhu village, Imphal East, today. Hailing his courage during Operation Sindoor, the Sangh described him as a role model for the youth of Manipur and the nation.
A delegation led by Kh. Rajen Singh, Karyawah of Assam Kshetra, along with Dr. Sunil Mohanty, Prachar Pramukh of Assam Kshetra, and senior RSS functionaries of Manipur, visited Rizwan’s home. They were warmly received by his father Hafizuddin Malik, family members, and community leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohanty praised Rizwan’s bravery and composure, noting that his heroism reflected the spirit of Bharat’s soldiers who always put duty before self. He highlighted the synergy between India’s Armed Forces, political leadership, and diplomatic missions that strengthens the country’s security framework.
The gathering fondly recalled the contributions of Colonel Shaukat Ali Malik of Keikhu, who served in the Indian National Army under Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Niyamat Tulla, who fought in the Battle of Khongjom. Rizwan’s honour, they said, continues this legacy of sacrifice.
Addressing the gathering, Squadron Leader Rizwan attributed his recognition to teamwork, stating, “Nothing is possible without the team working behind the scenes.” He shared his admiration for former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, calling him his role model, and recalled Brigadier Saurabh Singh Shekhawat’s words on respecting even fallen enemies as martyrs—values he believes embody the Indian Army’s ethos of humanity and discipline.
