RS MP Sanajaoba Leishemba inaugurates newly open dialysis treatment centre at RIMS

Imphal, Sept 9:

Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba Leishemba had inaugurated a New Dialysis Treatment Centre, of RIMS, Imphal on Tuesday. Sanajaoba Leishemba stated the newly constructed 10 bedded New Dialysis Treatment Centre, RIMS will give benefits specially to the public of the state.

RIMS now have 16 beds for dialysis patients. Earlier patients used to go outside the state for dialysis treatment. Such new facility provided in the RIMS will enable the poor patients to save huge money. The Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba appreciated the Director and his team for providing such facility to the public.

The Director Prof. A. Santa Singh stated that it is our dream to give best health care facilities to the people of the Manipur and other north eastern states. It is also a turning point of RIMS that we are able to install 10 new machines with 3 RO to the Department of Nephrology today and also opening of DM Nephrology course from the last year. The Nephrology Department can produce two DM doctors for every year which is our contribution to India. The institute is planning to start kidney transplantation in the near future in collaboration with AIIMS, New Delhi or Gujarat Government.

The Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Prof. Ch. Arunkumar Singh, Head of Nephrology Department, K. Doungel, Deputy Director (Admn.), Dr. T. Brojen Singh, Heads of Departments, faculty from medical, dental and college of Nursing, Nursing Superintendent, officials attended the inauguration function.

 Later on, Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba interacted with the Director and officials in the Jubilee Hall, RIMS. The Director briefed Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba the various steps taking up to develop institute one of the best medical institutes in India. Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba assured that he will do at his best level to bring RIMS to the status of AIIMS.
