Rs 50 crore worth ice drug seized; AR foils narcotics smuggling

A team led by Commandant of 2nd MR Victoria Yengkhom today seized ice drug worth Rs. 50 Crore in the international market from Yaiskul Janmasthan area. Source said that the team of 2nd Manipur Rifles led by its commandant raided some places at Yaiskul Janmasthan area here in Imphal yesterday night. The team then recovered a huge number of ice drugs (narcotics) from a shop.
On the other hand, Keithelmanbi Battalion of Assam Rifles and Thoubal Police apprehended two persons along with 11 soap cases of Brown Sugar weighing around 335 gms worth around Rs. 45 Lakhs in the International market along Imphal Moreh route in Thoubal district yesterday. The recovered items along with the two drug peddlers were handed over to Lilong Police Station for further investigation.
