The Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has denied any connection between its armed wing, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), and a woman identified as Konthoujam Rita, alias Maya, who was reportedly apprehended by a joint team of the 33 Assam Rifles and CDO Imphal West from Langol Game Village, Zone III, on September 23.
In a press clarification issued by Bangkim, Assistant Secretary, Publicity, RPF, the outfit said Rita, 53, wife of Jiten and a resident of Leifam Yairipok Angtha Mamang Leikai, Phayeng Makha Leikai, Imphal East district, has no association with the RPF or the PLA in any matter.
The clarification followed a post made on the Manipur Police Facebook page regarding her reported apprehension by the security forces.
The RPF stated that Rita has no connection whatsoever with the organisation or its armed wing.
