The Rotary Club of Imphal, under Rotary International District 3240, marked its 52nd Foundation Day at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri, on October 31, 2024. As part of the celebration, the club honored fifteen school teachers with the Nation Builder Award, presented under the TEACH initiative of the Rotary India Literacy Mission, recognizing their contributions to education.
The awardees for 2024 included distinguished educators such as Chingsubam Taibungnganba Meitei and Anita Langoljam Chanu of Porompat Sabal Leikai High School, Oinam Jamuna and Thokchom Sarita Chanu of Heirangoithong High School, and thirteen others from various schools across Imphal. Additionally, Shri Ng Anand Singh was inducted as a new member of the Rotary Club of Imphal during the event.
The function was attended by Director of Education (S), Government of Manipur, Shri Laishram Nandakumar Singh (IAS), as the Chief Guest, who extended his congratulations to the awardees and commended the Rotary Club of Imphal for their dedication to uplifting teachers. Shri Nandakumar assured the Department’s support in promoting educational initiatives across the state. Other distinguished Rotary members present included Rtn Phijam Saratchandra, President of Rotary Club of Imphal; Rtn Devkumar Thoudam, Assistant Governor of Zone XII; Rtn W. Rabichandra, CLCC; and Rtn Sanjay Das, Secretary of RC Imphal.
The ceremony saw participation from Zone I & II Education Officers, school principals, students, and club members. The program concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting to commemorate the club’s 52nd Foundation Day.
