Rajkumari Nayansana Devi, the Chairperson of the Manipur State Social Welfare Board and former Director of the Manipur Agriculture Department, has been awarded the Honorary Doctorate Award 2024 (Doctor of Social Work) by Euro Asian University.
The award ceremony took place during the university’s convocation at the Regenza Tunga Navi Mumbai at 1100 AM. The Honorary Doctorate Award 2024 recognizes Nayansana Devi’s exceptional contributions to social work and her dedication to improving the lives of people in her community.
Born on January 1, 1951, in Singjamei Mathak Chingtham Leikai, Imphal, RK Nayansana Devi is the daughter of RK Pakasana and Haobam Ningol RK Ongbi Amureima. In 1973, she married Gurumayum Joykumar Sharma of Uripok Khwai Brahmapur, with whom she has four children. She currently resides in Palace Compound, Imphal.
Nayansana Devi served as the Chairperson of the Manipur State Social Welfare Board from 2010 to 2013 and retired as the Director of the Manipur Agriculture Department on December 31, 2009. An accomplished writer, she has authored several books, including “HE MEI EESHING NUNGSHIT” (Poetry, 2019), “SSANARIK PARENG” (Short Story, 2022), and “YA YA LAOYI CHUP LUPLHO” (Poetry, 2022).
Throughout her career, Nayansana Devi has been recognized with numerous national and international awards, including the Bharat Jyoti Award, Bharat Gourav Award, Nongpok Panthoibi Award, Regional Achiever Award, Indo-Nepal International Award 2021, International Lifetime Achievement Award 2021, and the Indo-Spanish International Award 2024.
A dedicated social worker, Nayansana Devi continues to be actively involved in various state and national level organizations.
