RIMS Doctors say they are not ready to go to Churachandpur

Doctors at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal said that they are not ready to go either to violence-hit area of Churachandpur or Moreh or Kangpopkpi as their life is not secure in those areas.
After Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured to send a medical team to Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Moreh, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reportedly selected 12 doctors from the RIMS. However, doctors at RIMS said they cannot go to the district as they don’t feel secure going there.
An application in the connection has been submitted to the Director by doctors at RIMS. Mentioned may be made that all Meitei people including doctors who are permanent settlers of Churachandpur town have been displaced after their houses at Churachandpur have been vandalised and burnt by miscreants at Churachandpur town in the aftermath of the May 3 Tribal Solidarity rally.
