Rich tribute paid to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 125th Birth Anniversary

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today paid rich floral tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 125th Birth Anniversary at Congress Bhavan in Imphal. The day is also observed as Children Day across the nation. Congress party workers, leaders and supporters also staged run for future rally in and around Imphal city to mark the occasion and also to spread the message of peace and love among the people of the state. MPCC President Gaikhangam, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, Ministers, MLAs and workers of the Congress Party also took part in the rally after paying floral tribute to the portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at Congress Bhavan today. The rally staged today was jointly flagged off by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and MPCC President Gaikhangam from Congress Bhavan at around 9 am today. Education Minister M Okendro, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, MLA O Landhoni, Works Minister Kh Ratan, MLA K Ranjit, Parliamentry Secretary Prithiviraj, Meghachandra and other MLAS Ministers and MPCC leaders attended the peace rally.A painting competition for school going children was also organised by the Congress Seva Dal at Congress Bhavan to mark the occasion.
