Nachom Arts of Contemporary Movement (NACM) is organising a dance rendezvous with renowned contemporary dance artist from Tokyo, Takao Kawaguchi on Friday.
As a part of the ongoing dance workshop organised by NACM, Takao Kawaguchi will perform his solo contemporary dance called ‘good luck’ along with a collaborative dance performance with the local dance choreographer, Surjit Nongmeikapam on the mega event which will be organised on June 5, at 5 pm, MSFDS Palace Compound.
Addressing a press meet today at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, Takao Kawaguchi said that he is delighted with Manipuri culture and compared the state with paradise. He has been performing his dance solo ‘good luck’ at various places across the globe since the last 25 years. He said ‘good luck’ is based on a three minute long imaginary film which is filled with emotions. He said he would like to focus on feelings and emotions rather than dance technique.
Takao Kawaguchi who is also conducting the ten days long dance workshop organised by NACM in collaboration with the Japan foundation, New Delhi said that he is looking forward to the collaborative performance with the local dance artist Surjit Nongmeikapam and musical group from Lai Hui. He said the collaborative performance is his first experience which hopes to merge both the cultures.
