Relief Committee distributes relief materials to the villagers affected by the Natural Calamities

The Natural Disaster Relief Committee of Kuki Area (NDRC KA) Chandel District dispatched and distributed relief materials to the villagers affected by the recent natural calamities since the past few days.
Speaking to the media person, Robert Gangte, Secretary NDRC KA Chandel District  said that despite of multiple landslide along the roads, relief materials handed over to the committee by the District Administration as well as generous donated by individuals and organizations were distributed to the affected villagers.
The distribution of relief materials was hampered by the multiple landslides as many villages were cut off and inaccessible till date. Despite of all such hardship, the committee members continued to dispatch
relief materials at some villages for area wise villages.  He added.
The Secretary further maintained that apart from providing essential commodities to the Joumol Villagers, the Relief committee  distributed relief materials to flood affected villagers of Gunpi area and Kana area in
first phase. And in the second phase, relief materials were also dispatched at Tolbung for Hengshi, Tuyang & Hollenjang Area,  at Gokemdo for Maokot and P.Chehjang area  and at Joupi for Tm Dingpi areas, he added.
Robert further said that a team of relief committee accompanied with Memi Mary, SDO Khengjoi went to Tolbung for distribution of relief materials for Twitung area and Sehlon area yesterday.
Expressing gratitude to all donors who generously donated in cash and kinds,  the Secretary of the Relief Committee also thanks the staff and managing board of Greenland Hospital and Research Centre, Khopijang New Molbem for organizing free medical camp for flood affected villagers at Lonpi Khunou and displaced Joumol villagers at Utangpokpi Village.
And he also appealed all other individuals and organizations who organised donation for the victims of the natural calamities of Chandel District to submit the assistance to the committee office located at Sugnu Tribal on or before August 15 for further distribution.
