Relay hunger strike launched

The CPI Manipur State Council has launched today a 3-day’ Relay Hunger Strike at the gate of the Irawat Park located at Chalou under the Lamlai assembly constituency in Imphal East District. Pressing for a concrete solution to the more than 8 months old violence in Manipur while raising several demands, the relay hunger strike will cover different parts of the Imphal valley till 30 January 2024.
“Stop the Violence immediately”, “Summon An Assembly Session Now”, “Immediate Resettlement of the Displaced Persons in Their Respective Homes”, “No Disintegration of Manipur”, “No Separate Administration in Manipur”, etc. were some of the demands made by the CPI Manipur State Council according to M. Joykumar, Assistant Secretary of the Council. He said the council would go on for a more intense agitation if the government failed to implement their demands.
