Reception held for new Congress supporters in Kakching

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) General Secretary Kshetrimayum Kennedy has welcomed several people from different polling stations in Sora, under Kakching Assembly Constituency, who previously supported other political parties but have now decided to support him.

The meeting was held at Kennedy’s residence at Kakching Makha Leikai to discuss the prevailing political situation in Manipur and the country. MPCC General Secretary Bangkimchandra and leaders of the Kakching Block Congress Committee attended the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, Kennedy said that if a capable representative had been serving as the MLA of Kakching Assembly Constituency, there would have been no need to struggle to seek votes again.

He alleged that the BJP and its ally, the National People’s Party (NPP), were misleading the public. He also claimed that clean drinking water remained unavailable to every household in Sora, Irengband, Bijoypur and Pallel, while proper road construction remained lacking in the constituency.

Kennedy said the dissatisfaction of youths with the prevailing situation had prompted them to extend support to the Congress. He appealed to the people and youth of Kakching to unite against the NPP and work towards safeguarding Manipur.
