Panasonic India today announced the launch of its second phase of ‘RattiChhatr’ scholarship program for 2015 which will provide financial aid to talented undergraduate students from across fifteen IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and encourage them to pursue higher education.
Keeping in line with its commitment to give access to quality education to people, Panasonic Corporation had established the Panasonic scholarship program in 1998 to commemorate the company’s 80th anniversary, as a way for the company to contribute towards the development of the society. The program was launched in India in 2009 and was termed – ‘Panasonic RattiChhatr Scholarship’. Since the program’s launch in India, eight scholars have been selected and enrolled for the master’s program in Japan, and three scholars from the 2009 batch who graduated last year have been hired by leading multinational brands in Japan.
Daizo Ito, President, Panasonic India said, “The new phase of the Panasonic ‘RattiChhatr Scholarship’ program identifies and recognizes a pool of unexplored talent, specifically from the low income groups, and provides them with financial assistance to create experts who can contribute towards the progress of the nation.”
