Imphal, Oct 31: National Institute of Technology Manipur (NITM) observed Rahstriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) today. As a part of the observation, a marathon race with the theme ‘run for unity’ was also organised today from NITM Takyelpat and snaked through Naoremthong via Rims Road and ended at NITM Langol.

27 AR also organized Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Kadamtala, Jiribam to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

Nation must feel ashamed about blacking out the national programme of observing Indira Gandhi's 'punya tithi' 31.10 as Sahid Divas. Crafting a new celebration for Sardar Patel is good, and must we keep it in mind that both are our national icons and their personality should not have been assessed by the small politicians of the day.
