Imphal, Sept 3:
The rape victim who was left to die at an area called Yandou under Mayang Imphal Police station and found by the people in an unconscious state yesterday succumbed today while undergoing treatment at RIMS at around 2 pm today.
The minor girl aged about 14 years was allegedly raped by her boyfriend and left to die at the roadside of Yandou palli. She was found in unconscious state yesterday and people immediately rushed her to RIMS hospital for treatment. While alive the victim girl identified the person who raped her and left to die. The accused identified as Usam Maja Khan (19 years) son of Shikandar from Heibong Makhong Mathak Leikai has been arrested yesterday and produced today at CJM Imphal West today. He has been remanded in police custody till September 9.
The dead body of the minor girl has been deposited at RIMS morgue for autopsy. A JAC against the rape and murder of the victim minor has been formed against the gruesome crime. It is expected to launch series of agitation if the authority fails to punish the rapist followed by few demands. However, the JAC member said that they will put up the demand after convening a meeting today.
