The Rangkhung Youth Club (RYC) has issued a notification raising concern over the alleged sighting of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operating over Rangkhung village, reportedly equipped with night-vision technology.
According to the notification, the drone activity was witnessed by villagers and has caused concern among residents amid the prevailing sensitive security situation in the region. The youth club stated that the matter requires immediate verification as it could pose potential threats to the security and privacy of the village.
The organisation has called upon concerned government departments, local authorities, security agencies and military authorities to clarify whether any authorised operation involving drones is currently being conducted in the area. It stated that any such operation should be immediately acknowledged in order to avoid confusion and further complications.
The notification further stated that village youths and volunteers may launch intensive search operations to identify the source of the drone activity. The club also warned that failure by concerned authorities to respond or clarify the situation could lead to unforeseen consequences arising from actions taken by village volunteers.
