IT Exclusive
The construction works under GM Constructions, Northeast Frontier Railways have been allegedly allocated to a Hyderabad -based blacklisted company.
According to a source from NF Railways (Construction), Maligaon, Guwahati the work W/362/CON/J-T/Tunnel No 11D/2013/21 (RT-1) dated 08/04/2014 has been allotted to blacklisted firm- M/S Coastal Projects Ltd.
It also said that though the company was blacklisted by Madhya Pradesh government it managed to file tenders for the tunnel construction works of NF Railways and process is on to allot many more works to the firm.
As per documents available, the M/S Coastal Projects Ltd was blacklisted by two government agencies viz Narmada Valley Development Authority, Madhya Pradesh and Ganga Basin Water Resource Department, Rew, Madhya Pradesh on 31/02/2012 and 07/10/2014 respectively for a period of 5 years.
The Regulation for the Guidance of Tenders stated that the railways may declare a firm ineligible who has been blacklisted by any government agencies as on the date of application.
Such type of illegal and underhand activities not only cast aspersions to the reputation of highest serving public sector organization- Indian Railways but also brings a big slur on the management of Indian Railways.
