Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will visit Manipur to take stock of the ongoing construction work of railway line from Jiribam to Tupul. The Minister is likely to visit the state soon.
A team of BJP Manipur Pradesh led by its president Th Chaoba and General Secretary Ashnikumar met the Union Minister on Saturday and urged him to take up railway project as soon as possible.
The team also urged the Minister for opening up a sub-divisional head office of Indian Railways at Imphal in the interest of the unemployed youth of Manipur and construction of ropeways at Noney and Tupul.
During the meeting, Suresh Prabhu assured them that he will visit Manipur for two days either in the last week of March or first week of April for direct assessment of the ongoing Imphal-Tupul railway line construction work, informed Ashnikumar who is now at Delhi.
The state BJP leaders also met the Union Minister of Finance Arun Jaitely and Union Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal and urged them to take up development works in the state including reaching out banking facilities, implementation of inclusive financial planning specially in rural and hill areas. They also urge the union ministers to initiate action against the nationalized banks in the state indulging in undue delaying tactics while distributing PMEGP loans to beneficiaries.
