Rabi Campaign 2025–26 launched in Chandel District

The Rabi Campaign 2025–26 for Chandel district, along with the distribution of Rabi seeds and fertilizers under the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oilseeds (NMEO-OS) and State Plan, was inaugurated today at the Multipurpose Hall, DC Office Complex, Chandel.
The programme was graced by Deputy Commissioner of Chandel, Laishram Nandakumar, as the Chief Guest, while District Agriculture Officer Chandel, SP Lovejoy Anal, as President. Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Firoj Khan, Divisional Forest Officer Dr. N. Munal Meitei, and SDO Chandel Anunay Anand (IAS) attended as Guests of Honour.
In his address, DC Laishram Nandakumar stated that the Manipur government has been striving to improve the economic condition of farmers. He observed that with the increasing population, there is a growing need to boost agricultural production. He urged farmers to consult relevant departments for proper guidance on fertilizer application and appealed to avoid excessive use of fertilizers.
As part of the programme, mustard seeds and urea were distributed to farmers of the district.
