Imphal, Oct 10: ACOAM-Lup today observed Puwarigi Amamba Numit as a mark of remembrance to the day at which the ancient books of Manipur were burnt by Shantidas Gosai. According to the ACAOM-Lup the puyas (ancient sacred books) of the Manipuris were burnt by the King Pamheiba under the instigation of Shantidas Gosai 282 years ago. Various personalities including research scholar Langol, President of ACAOM Lup and other civil society leaders were present on the occasion.
