Residents of Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai staged a sit-in protest following a bomb threat at the residence of Yurembam Brojendro. The bomb, which was placed by unknown miscreants and did not detonate, has sparked fear and unrest in the community, leading to a collective outcry for peace and security.
Nandarani Takhellambam, a local resident, spoke out about the incident, describing it as deeply alarming. “This is a fearful incident. The fact that a bomb was placed near Brojendro’s residence, even though it didn’t explode, is enough to disturb the peace in our community,” she said.
The sit-in protest has seen active participation from local organizations and meira paibi groups, who are united in their demand for clarity and resolution. “We are all the same people. We can have dialogue and negotiations to resolve our differences,” Nandarani emphasized, urging for a peaceful approach to resolving conflicts within the community.
She further added, “Things should be clarified. We need peace and not fights among ourselves.” The protesters are calling for a thorough investigation into the incident and for steps to be taken to ensure that such threats do not occur in the future.
