Large number of people today staged protest at Kakching Irabot Park demanding unconditional and immediate released of students and faculty members arrested by Manipur Police from Manipur University. The protest was organised under the aegis of Joint Non Government Voluntary organisation.
the protest also vehemently condemn September 20 midnight crackdown at Manipur University campus at which the police not only harass the students but also fire smoke bomb and tear gas shell which injured many students.
If the present fiasco at Manipur University has not been solved in time colleges affiliated to the Mu would also be affected. The protest demand immediate settlement of the problem and said that the civil bodies at Kakching will not remain silent if the fiasco at Manipur University continues.
