Protest staged against Uchol killing

A sit-in-protest was staged today at Telipati, Imphal East protesting against the killing of a man at Uchol village under Andro Police station yesterday, demanding to nab the culprits at the earliest. Several people including family members of the deceased and supporters protested by holding banners denouncing the killing.
As per source, the deceased was identified as one Silendra Shah, 35, son of Vishwanath Sha hailing from Bihar currently staying at a rented house at Ragailong in Imphal along with his wife and three daughters and worked as grocery supplier. Silendra was shot on the head and 3 empty cases and one live ammunition of 9mm were found at the spot, where he was shot at. The death body were later deposited at JNIMS morgue.
As of now, the cause of the killing cannot be established and the police are investigating on to book the culprit at the earliest.
