Protest staged against removal of IRB

Thoubal, Feb.14: Villagers of Aimol villages in and around Ngairong area of newly created Tengnoupal district today staged protest against the state government plant to remove 3rd IRB post from Aimol Ngairong village.
As the report about the removal of the 3rd IRB pos reached to the people, villagers of Aimol Ngairong, Aimol Khullen, Aimol Chandonpokpi, Aimol Khudamphai, Aimol Tampak etc. came out in the street and staged protest by blocking the road between Aimol Tampak and Aimol Ngairong.
A protestor while talking to media persons said that due to the presence of the IRB post the villagers felt secured and are being protected.
“If the IRb post has been removed then people of the area will be left in state of terror and we don’t want replacement of it by either police or the VDF”, said the protestor.
Placards with slogans “we want IRB, keep IRB post permanent” etc were display during the protest.
On the other hand villagers of Molnom too protested against the removal of IRB post from Molnom area.
