Akham Bimolchandra Singh, President of Yaiskul Block Congress Committee speaking to media person said, “It is very unfortunate that several gun rounds were fired at the residence of PCC member and Vice President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Hareshwar Goshwami by unknown miscreants. He has been active in many burning issues of the state like the Border Pillar issues and many others. There has been no record of threat or intimidation against him till now. Also, the gun culture and act of goondaism which is on the rise in Manipur is very unfortunate. “
Bimolchandra appealed to the government to look into the issue of Gun culture seriously and to take up measures to curb the issue. The government should ensure that those who are having a gun license, are not using the weapon in any form of criminal activities, he added.
