Protest demanding justice for two students staged

Students and staff of Macha Leima School staged a silent sit-in –protest demanding justice for Hemanjit and Linthoingambi in front of their school gate at Palace Compound Thagat Mapal.
Placards and banners with slogans such as “Justice for Hemanjit and Linthoingambi, Punish Kuki militants involved in killing Hemanjit and Linthoingambi, We Want Justice,” are displayed during the protest.
Speaking on the sidelines of the silent sit-in protest, the headmistress of the Macha Leima school expressed that the silent sit-in protest is against the brutal killing of two students, Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi, by the Kuki militants. The Macha Leima School also condemned the use of brute force by state and central security forces against students. She also extended solidarity to the students and shared pain with those who were injured during the security force’s action.
