In protest against the replacement of a regular Head Master by an in-charge Headmaster at Lamdng High students of the school demonstrated a sit-in protest by not allowing any teachers to enter the school since yesterday. This is the second protest the students’ demonstrated demanding allotment of a regular Head Master for the school which is the only Model School in Thoubal District.
Speaking to reporters, a student representative said that the newly allotted Head Master in – charge is not fit for holding the post of the school. He demanded the authority to send the in-charge head master to an appropriate school and sent a qualified regular hospital to the school. He threatens to continue the agitation until the government authority listen to their demand and fulfil it.
It may be mentioned that the new Head Master in-charge identified as Ningthoujam Nimaichand , an Arts Graduate teacher, has been sent to this school after students of Eureka High School, where he served as in-charge head master, agitated for his transfer from the school. Sending such an incompetent in-charge head master to the only Model district of Thoubal district is nothing but inviting trouble in the school academic atmosphere, said a guardian of the students of this school. A guardian of one of the student said that if the government fails to listen the demand of the students then the guardians will joined the students too.
