Prof. Bhagat Oinam appointed ICPR Visiting Professor

The Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) has nominated Professor Bhagat Oinam of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, as an ICPR Visiting Professor for the academic year 2025–26.

As part of the programme, Prof. Oinam will deliver lectures at five universities across the country to promote philosophical studies and engage with students, scholars and others interested in the discipline.

The ICPR’s Visiting Professor programme aims to facilitate academic interaction by deputing distinguished scholars to universities and higher educational institutions across India to deliver lectures and strengthen philosophical research and learning.

The council will bear the domestic travel expenses of the visiting professor, including flexible airfare, and provide honoraria in accordance with its prescribed norms.

Mentioned may be made that Professor Bhagat Oinam’s new Book – “Contours of Indigenous Philosophy (Mapping the Aesthetic and Ethical Works of North East India)” has been published this month by New York based publishing house, Springer. The Springer is among top five publishers of the world.
