Press conference on Sardar@150 Unity March held; Vegetable seeds distributed in Kakching

A press conference was held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Kakching DC Complex, in connection with the forthcoming Sardar@150 Unity March organised by the District Administration, Kakching, in collaboration with Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Thoubal.
Addressing the media, Additional Deputy Commissioner P. Shantikumar informed that all preparations for the Unity March campaign in Kakching District have been completed. The event is being organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and will continue till December 6, he said.
Further he stated that district-level events such as quiz competition, essay writing, debate and poster-making will be held for students from schools and colleges in Kakching district before the Padyatra. He also urged students and the public to register and took part in various competitions at www.mybharat.gov.in.
Speaking at the press conference, L. Marjitkumar, State Director of MY Bharat Manipur, said that the Sardar@150 Unity March was digitally launched by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, on October 6, 2025, and to be concluded on December 6, 2025. The campaign is being organised throughout India in all the districts.
He added that the campaign will be conducted in two phases — the first being the pre-event phase, during which competitions such as essay writing, reel making, and quizzes will be organised in schools and colleges, followed by the Unity March. He encouraged the public to participate in the two-month-long campaign, which includes multiple competitions and events.
Today’s press conference was also attended by W. Paulina Monsang, Deputy Director of MY Bharat Thoubal; Okram Sandhyarani, AC to DC Kakching; L Shankerjit, Additional SP (LO); Ksh. Indubala, Convenor of MY Bharat Kakching District; District Level Officers and other officials of the Kakching District Administration.
On the other hand, a distribution programme of vegetable seeds under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) 2025–26 (1st installment) was held today at the DC Office Complex, Kakching. The initiative aims to enhance vegetable production, improve farmers’ income, and increase the availability of quality seeds to cultivators.
The programme was organised by the Ex-Officio Project Officer, MIDH, Horticulture & Soil Conservation (Thoubal) under the supervision of the District Administration, Kakching.
P. Shantikumar, ADM Kakching, and Kh. Malemnganba Meitei, Ex-Officio Project Officer, MIDH, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur, attended the programme along with officials of the concerned department.
During the programme, vegetable seeds were distributed to 40 beneficiaries from among the 178 approved farmers of the district. The remaining beneficiaries will receive their seeds from the office of the District Officer, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Thoubal, during office hours in the coming working days.
