Imphal, Nov 9: Proscribed group People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) is observing “Athoubasinggee Ningshing Numit” to honour the martyred revolutionaries who had sacrificed their lives in the struggle for restoring of our lost Independence and Egalitarian Society over the years on November 12, 2017. The outfit has been observing the day every year since November 12, 1979.
A press statement issued by LeibaakNgakpa Luwang, Secretary-in-Charge, Publicity and Propaganda (PREPAK) while appealing the people of both hills and valley to take part in the observance by lighting lamps at night at the memorial sites of the martyrs also appeals to the people not to organize any kind of entertainment on the day.
The day is being observed in commemoration to the martyred revolutionary who gave their live for the cause of the revolutionary struggle at different incident.
The statement said that a team of CRPF and Manipur Police launched attacked to a group of revolutionaries belonging to Red army of PREPAK and PLA when they were engaged in cultivation work at Leimarok of Kameng on November 12 of 1978.
In the attacked Dhiren and Kabikanta of PREPAK and Gambhir of PLA were killed. “The incident had lit the lamp of inspiration in the minds of our new generations to sacrifice for the liberation of our motherland”, the statement said.
The statement added that on November 12 of 1985, leader of the Party, RK Tulachandra laid down his life in the hands of Security Force at the complex of Sugar Mill at Kabo Wakching.
Considering the two incidents and other incidents in which many brave revolutionaries had laid down their lives for the sake of Arms Revolutionary movement, PREPAK and its army—Red Army have been observing November 12 of every year as the “Athoubasinggee Ningshing Numit” till today, the statement added.
The statement further added that the territorial boundaries and destiny of all independent nations in the world are the price of sacrifice made by those who laid down their lives for the sake of their motherland. There has never been any independent Nation State in the world without the history of sacrifice.
The statement also said, “After annexing Kangleipak to the dominion of India, the people have been deprived of all basic human rights, economic rights, civil rights, right to self determination, etc. Though the Constitution of India claims to provide its citizens rights, in practice, fundamental rights such as right to education, right to life and all basic rights that a human being ought to be able to exercise are all deprived. In WESEA region, the Indian administration gives its security forces “License to kill” and allows them to commit genocide. AFSPA 1958 is enforced as the Indian Army wishes to suppress and oppress the Mongoloid races in contravention of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights 1966.
“Even though the Constitution of India pledges to grant economic and social rights, in Kangleipak these rights have not even been conceived. The manner in which people have been deprived of these rights till today proves that the same rights will not be granted in future too. It is not a complaint against not granting the economic and social rights but only to indicate the nature of the Colonial rule. A nouveau riche class among the Kanglei people has been created by the rulers and they are being used as tool under the garb of Metropolitan power against the masses. This has built a big wall between the people of hills and valley threatening to snap the age-old bond of brotherhood and love that cannot be broken by any force or influence. Not only this, conflicts are being caused among the hills brethren too.
“On the other hand, even though the declaration of UN General Assembly and the international laws support the right to self determination of a people who have history of independence and sovereignty, after living a life of dependency under the colonial rule, the right to self determination has been made to look like something impossible and impracticable. Even after India has ratified 25 Covenants, the right to Self Determination of people that is assured of under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and International Covenant on Civil Rights, the same has been pushed aside by India. When that right is not given by those who ought to give it, it is only natural to grab and pull it so that it can be taken. This is a universally accepted move and endorsed by the UN. When a united struggle of people based on the right track of history advances towards the goal, that struggle can never be defeated”, the statement added.
