The proscribed outfit PREPAK (Progressive) has expressed condolences over the death of two cadres belonging to Meeyamgi Yawol Laanmee (MYL) and Meeyamgi Fingang Laanmee (MFL), who were reportedly killed during a confrontation with Indian security forces on April 25.
According to a statement issued by L. Ningsingba, Assistant Publicity Secretary of PREPAK (Progressive), the encounter took place in Kangleipak (Manipur) where a joint team of Indian Army personnel and allied forces engaged in an armed clash with a united front of insurgent groups.
The deceased have been identified as Pathou 2nd Lieutenant Oinam Telheiba alias Landaba of KYKL’s armed wing MYL, and Comrade Lance Corporal Ahanthem Bishan alias Kanglei of KCP’s armed wing MFL.
The statement noted that PREPAK (Progressive) has paid tribute to the two cadres, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifice in what it described as the struggle for the sovereignty of Kangleipak and its people. The group further stated that the contributions of the fallen cadres will be remembered in the annals of the revolutionary movement.
It also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and comrades of the deceased.
