Imphal, Mar 14:

Armed rebel group, People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) popularly known as PREPAK (Pro) while refuting claimed by security force about the arrest of an individual by terming him as an active member stated that any individual cannot be an active member of its organization.

A statement issued by one Melei, Senior Publicity Officer of the proscribed group in a statement released today said that the individual identified as H. Nganba @ Abo of Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal, who has been arrested by the security force is not an active member of the organization.

It said that any organization was declared an outlaw if the Government of India felt that it is waging war against the government or for voicing against them. The statement reminded that there are organizations as well as individuals who pinpoint the wrong in the system and also who discussed the root of the crisis of the society that includes politicians. Can these people be treated as unlawful or terrorist?, the PREPAK 9Pro) question.

The PREPAK said that even though their organization is waging war against the government it felt that certain issues and the problem being faced by the people due to the impact of drugs, corruption, wrong education system, and arbitrary killings that have been happening in the society cannot be ignored. In order to fight the wrongs in society, the PREPAK (Pro) said that they took help from the common people. The PREPAK(Pro) said that they also accepted monetary help from people who are engaging in business or government service. On the other hand, the organization also helps misguided drug addicts by sending them to rehabilitation centers. Considering those individuals who help the society as active members of PREPAK(Pro) is not justified. Rather, they should be considered as people who want to clean the society, the statement of the PREPAK said.

The PREPAK Pro said that instead of treating every individual who is extending good service for the society as a member of the rebel group it is time to recognize the service of people who have been harnessing for the betterment of the society. It also appealed to the MPSC cleared candidate to ponder upon the matter so that they too understand the role taken by revolutionary groups in the region.
