Imphal, March 28:
The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has expressed deep condolences over the demise of two revolutionary cadres—Pathou Lieutenant Angom Sanatomba alias Ingo (37) of KYKL/MYL and Lance Corporal Maibam Naotonba alias Naatngakpa Meetei (18) of PREPAK (Pro). Both were killed in a violent encounter along the Manipur-Myanmar border on March 25.
According to a statement released by Mangal Khuman, Publicity Officer of PREPAK’s Department of Publicity and Propaganda, the clash occurred in a conflict zone where an armed resistance was launched against the increasing dominance of Kuki Narco-Terrorist groups. The outfit alleged that the operation was executed with the backing of the Indian armed forces and the Kuki National Army-B (KNA-B) to suppress insurgent movements in the region.
PREPAK has accused external forces of attempting to destabilize Manipur’s sovereignty by supporting rival militant factions. The group claimed that the two slain cadres were engaged in a mission to resist foreign influence when they were gunned down.
The outfit has vowed to retaliate and called for unity among pro-independence revolutionary groups to counter external oppression. It also asserted that the two fallen cadres would be honored for their sacrifice and warned that any further attempts to weaken their movement would be met with strong resistance.
This latest development highlights the persistent armed conflict in the region, where multiple insurgent groups continue to engage in violent clashes over territorial and ideological disputes.
