The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) observed the 46th Red Army Uprising Day on March 26 across various locations, including its Central Headquarters, General Headquarters, mobile units, base areas, transit camps and training centres.
A statement by Mangal Khuman, Publicity Officer, Dept. of Publicity and Propaganda, PREPAK said that the observance commemorates the formation of PREPAK’s armed wing, the Red Army, which was established on March 26, 1980. According to a statement, the event was jointly marked by different units of the organisation along with participation from local supporters.
At the Central Headquarters, the programme was led by senior functionaries of PREPAK’s Interim Council and its publicity wing. Messages issued by the Chairman of the Interim Council were conveyed to the public through media platforms, with the organisation expressing appreciation to media personnel for disseminating its statements.
In his address, the Chairman highlighted the role of the Red Army in what the group described as its struggle for self-determination, and called for continued support from the people. The statement also included criticism of India’s policies in the region and referred to broader geopolitical developments involving countries such as the United States, Myanmar and China.
At the General Headquarters, the observance was led by the Chief of Army Staff of the Red Army along with senior members from various departments. The programme included ceremonial honours, including a gun salute to those the organisation described as fallen members.
Similar observances were held at the 707 Mobile Battalion and other base areas, where local commanders led the programmes. Speeches during these events reiterated the organisation’s stated objectives and called for unity and continued mobilisation.
The statement further claimed that the Red Army has played a significant role in advancing its movement over the years and paid tribute to its members and supporters. It also honoured those who, according to the group, lost their lives in the course of its activities.
The observance concluded with renewed assertions by PREPAK to continue its movement, with the organisation calling for sustained support from the people.
