PREPAK and Red Army observe ‘Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit 2025’

The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and its armed wing, the Red Army, observed Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit 2025 in association with various hill and valley communities, according to a press release issued by the outfit’s publicity officer, Mangai Khuman.
The outfit stated that the observance was held at multiple locations, including the Central Headquarters (CHQ), General Headquarters (GHQ), 707 Mobile Battalion, Base Areas 1 to 4, Training Centre, and Mobile Battalions 01 and 02.
Key highlights of the observance included floral tributes at martyrs’ memorials, a gun salute, and candle lighting at residential gates to honour those who had laid down their lives. The programme held at the CHQ was attended by the outfit’s interim council chairman and the in-charge of publicity and propaganda.
At the GHQ, the Chief of Army Staff (CAS) of the Red Army, in-charge of medical and family welfare, and deputy finance secretaries of Organisation 1 and 2 participated in the ceremony. The CAS hoisted the party flag at half-mast, followed by a two-minute silence and a gun salute in remembrance of the martyrs.
A similar observance was also held at the 707 Battalion, attended by the Red Army’s base area secretary and the camp commanding officer.
PREPAK expressed appreciation to the people of Manipur for their participation by lighting candles at their homes and roadsides in honour of the martyrs.
The outfit stated that the selfless sacrifices made by its predecessors continue to inspire the people of Manipur and keep the spirit of the movement alive. It further alleged that certain opportunists, posing as revolutionaries, had collaborated with what it termed as “enemy India” to weaken the movement, thereby misleading the people and distorting the meaning of patriotism.
The release concluded with an appeal to the public to remain alert and uphold the ideals of the martyrs.
