Poumai Naga Unions condemn social media allegations against Kamjong SP

Three Poumai Naga organisations based in Imphal have condemned what they described as false and defamatory allegations circulated on social media against Tholu Rocky, Superintendent of Police, Kamjong district, and urged authorities to examine the matter and take appropriate action against those responsible.

In a joint statement, the Poumai Naga Union, Imphal (PNUI), Poumai Naga Naotumai Me, Imphal (PNNMI), and Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me, Imphal (PNTMI) cautioned the state government against taking decisions based on unverified social media content.

The organisations also expressed concern over the SP’s transfer, urging the government to clarify the grounds for the decision and review or revoke it, if warranted, in the interest of administrative fairness, integrity and impartiality. They said the absence of a clear governance policy posed challenges for bureaucrats.
