Post-mortem conducted on Chaoba’s body at RIMS

The post-mortem examination of Kh. Chaoba, whose body was found on December 27 at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West district, was conducted today at the RIMS mortuary.
The examination was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, with participation of doctors from the locality of the deceased after due permission. The entire procedure was videographed as part of official protocol.
Tension arose at the mortuary as members of the deceased’s maternal and paternal families objected over the custody of the body. To prevent escalation, a team from Wangoi Police Station intervened and escorted representatives of both sides to the office of the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, for further discussion.
No further details were available at the time of filing this report.
