HL Jain, MCS, Additional District Magistrate, Senapati launched the Poshan Maah celebration (National Nutrition month) today at Mini Secretariat. It was jointly organised by District Administration, Senapati and DPO, ICDS cell, Senapati.
It may be said that Poshan Maah celebration will be observed in all the sub-division of the district from today onward and will be focussing on various activities under the following theme- i) Mahila and Swasthya, ii) Bacha and Shisha- Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi, iii) Gender Sensitive water conservation and management and iv) Traditional foods for women and children in tribal areas.
In today’s programme, a mass rally was also held which began from Old DC, Office and end at Mini Secretariat complex, Senapati. Various slogans such as ‘Eat Good Food’, ‘Work Hard Think Hard Eat Right’, ‘Always Eat Right’, ‘Good Nutrition is Our Mission’, ‘You are what you eat’, ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ etc. were displayed on the placard during the rally.
Later, ADM, Senapati also administered a pledge of Rashtriya Poshan Maah to all the participant of the rally.
Various District Level Officers along with its staff, Anganwandi workers and helpers were actively participated in today’s programme.
At Thoubal, National Nutrition month also known as Rashtriya Poshan Maah was formally launched in Thoubal District also along with rest of the country.
During the launching of the month long celebration, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, A. Subhas Singh, IAS flagged off a rally of Anganwadi workers & helpers, ASHA, VHSNC and ANM from DC Complex, Thoubal which culminated at Thoubal Mela ground.
Flagging off the rally, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal A. Subhash Singh, IAS, said National Nutrition month is a month long celebration. During this month various programs related to women and children like health check up will be held in various parts of the District. He said in coordination and cooperation of various departments like ICDS, Health department and ZEO is important for the successful implementation of this month long celebration.
The program was also attended by CMO Thoubal Dr. Y. Nokul and DLOs of various other departments.
At Bishnupur, District Administration, Bishnupur in association with ICDS Cell, Department of Social Welfare, Bishnupur today launched ‘Rashtriya POSHAN Maah – 2022’ at the Conference Hall of DC Office in Bishnupur. Shri H. Bobby Sharma, Addl Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur, Ejaj Hassan, AC to DC and Th. Santibala Devi, District Project Officer, ICDS addressed the gathering comprising CEO, Zilla Parishad, BDO Moirang, CMO, ZEO, DLOs, ICDS Supervisors, Anganwadi and ASHA Workers.
To mark the launch of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022, Poshan Rally was held from Mini Secretariat complex till Bishnupur Bazaar to raise awareness on the importance of nutrition to infants, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
ICDS Cell further lined up various activities to celebrate Rashtriya Poshan Maah all through this month in the district. In collaboration with Education, Health, Horticulture and other departments, ICDS will organize series of activities including plantation of medicinal plants, Poshan Pledge administration, Nutritional Recipe Contest, Screening Camps for Severe Acute Malnourishment, Anaemia Camps and Sensitization programs.
‘Rashtriya POSHAN Maah’ is celebrated each year in the month of September with the aim to create awareness about nutrition and healthy food. Poshan Abhiyaan 2022 is aimed to make India malnutrition free by 2022 by providing adequate nutrition to infants, pregnant women and lactating mothers, covering all states, districts and towns.
