Poll Preparedness: First round of EVM randomization held

First round of randomization of electronic voting machines (EVM) and voter verified paper audit trials (VVPAT) was held here yesterday in the presence of Additional District Election Officer Yumnam Nelson and representatives from various political parties.

About 519 Control Units, 519 Ballot Units and 558 VVPATs were randomized today in the strong box located at the Old DC’s Office, Tuibong. On completion of the first round of randomization, the EVMs and VVPATs will be assigned/ allocated among the six constituencies in Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts.

Meanwhile, the first round of training for polling personnel, which was started yesterday, continues at Churachandpur Government College. In today’s training programme, about 345Polling Officer-2(Male) and 345 Polling Officer-3 (Male) were trained by the Master Trainers.
