Poll preparation gear up in Nagaland; CEC visiting the state

Kohima, Feb 11: The Chief Election Commissioner along with Election Commissioners and Deputy Election Commissioners will be visiting Nagaland from February 14 to 15.
Informing this to media persons, the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland Abhijit Sinha said that the team of Election Commission will be reviewing the preparedness of the State for the February 27 State Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, All India report said that General Observer, J. M. Pathania held meeting with the security personnel, Election Expenditure Monitoring team, Flying Squad and the Static Surveillance team of 29-Jangpetkong and 30-Alongtaki Assembly Constituencies at the Dobashi Conference Hall Mangkolemba in Mokokchung district yesterday. During the meeting, the observer apprised the member of the various teams and the security personnel to discharge their respective duties in a polite and tactful manner so as to ensure free and fair election. ADC Mangkolemba and Returning Officer while seeking cooperation and activeness from the security forces and the various teams also urged upon them to discharge their duties in a polite manner for successful conduct of the election. EAC, Kedale Sebu also briefed the roles and guidelines of the various teams.
The Administration and Police of Zunheboto also conducted surprise raid and checking at Zunheboto town. The raid led by SDO (Sadar) Ajit Ranjan and SDPO Zunheboto, Zubenthung Lotha on Friday busted a gambling den where 13 person, including the owner were booked and FIR proceedings have been lodged under Public Gambling Act.
Intoxicants were also seized from different locations.
Static Surveillance Team led by DB Ghotokhu also seized banned syrup and narcotics drugs.
