Imphal, June 16:

Sincerity, wisdom and dedication with hard work make every impossible possible. Manipur state police team proves the adage by recovering a stolen vehicle from Yairipok Bazar and also by arresting the vehicle lifter. The one-time misconception to the mind of the people that ‘vehicle stolen could never be recovered’ has eradicated from the people’s mindset that.
Sub Inspector Y. Shankardas Mangang, Sub Inspector W. Deepakchandra Singh and Assistant Sub Inspector S. Maneshwor Singh were the police personnel who had make the operation successful under the supervision of their superior officer.
According to the report a yellow colour two-wheeler Vespa bearing registration No. MN06SA/8378 was reportedly stolen while parking by locking in front of Masjid at Yairipok bazaar in Thoubal district on June 4, 2021. The owner, Md Farid Shah reported the matter to the Officer in charge of Yairipok Police Station.
Following that, the police team immediately started an investigation. During the investigation, the police team checked the nearby CCTV cameras and found that one A-Star car bearing registration No MN01G/6740 was involved during the commission of the crime.
The police team then hunted the vehicle involved in the stealing of the vehicle and found it to have been registered in the name of one Naoroibam Romeo Singh s/o (L) Nimai Singh of Khurai Konsam Leikai. However, he had sold the car to one Muslim in the year 2019.
According to a police source the team received reliable information about the whereabouts of the A-Star car on the following day, that is on June 15 at about 10 am. Without delay, a team led by three police officers – SI Y. Shankardas Mangang, SI W. Deepakchandra Singh and ASI S. Maneshwor Singh proceeded towards Moreh. On approaching Lokchao bridge the A star car was seen proceeding towards Imphal. The team took U-turn and chased after the A star car. They intercepted the car at Tengnoupal police station gate.
On verification the driver has identified as Md Tarique Ajij 30 yrs s/o Md Abdul Latif of Sangaiyumpham Part 1 and he is serving in Manipur Police Department under RFN NO 082010205 and presently posted at 8th Bn Manipur Rifles Leikun, Chandel District.
Further, he disclosed that the A-Star car was used while stealing the Vespa B/R No MN06SA/8378 from the Masjid of Yairipok bazaar along with one colleague namely Md Nawaz of Urup and also kept the stolen Vespa at his house at Sangaiyumpham.
Md Tarique was arrested on the spot at 4:10 pm and also seized the A star car at 4:15 pm. The stolen Vespa was also recovered from the house of Md Tarique Ajij. The arrested person along with the seized vehicles are brought to YPK-PS for further necessary legal formalities. Hence a regular case under FIR NO 30(6) 2021 YPK-PS, U/S 379/34 IPC.
