Police foils TG students’ rally

Police today prevented students of TG Higher Secondary school from taking the street demanding to fill the post of vacant teachers in the school.According to reports, students of the TG Higher Secondary School today boycotted their classes and gathered to express their grievances to the concern government authority. The students later decided to take the street and staged protest to draw the notice of the Education Minister, however, equally large number of police personnel which arrived at the spot, stopped the student from staging a rally.Later, the police team allowed 9 representatives of the students including the union’s secretary for common room to submit a memorandum to the education Minister.The students of TG Higher Secondary School are demanding filling of the vacant teachers’ post. At present 4 maths teachers and 4 English teachers for class XI &XII remain vacant besides others.Talking to reporters a student said that with the lack of teachers in the school it is likely the syllabus for the XII standard will not be completed in time. As exam schedule is not far the students, while expressing apprehension about their future career said that government should be held responsible for any unwanted circumstances.
