Police crackdown illegal IMF Liquor factory in Thoubal district

A team Khongjom Police Station led by Officer in Charge Santosh had crackdown an illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor factory at Khongjom Maning Leikai in Thoubal district today.
According to police source the team led by OC Santosh of Khongjom Police Station had raided the residence of Thokchom Bobo (43) son of Late Th. Bokul Singh at Khongjom Maning Leikai after receiving specific information at around 10 am today morning. While conducting the raid the police seized various materials used for manufacturing of IMF liquors from the residence. Above that large quantity of illegally manufactured RUM and Whisky bottled were also seized. Among those material seized from the possession are empty bottle and caps with stickers of various brand of IMF were recovered from the residence.
The person behind the manufacturing of the IMF, Thokchom Bobo managed to escaped from the scene and police are on the hunt for the culprit. His wife and mother were picked up along with the seized items by the police team.
District Superintendent of Police of Thoubal, Jugeschandra Hoabijam while talking to media persons said that the police have recovered various chemical that are harmful for human consumption from the illegal factory. The chemical and others which were seized from the factory have been sent to the Food Safety Department authority for testing.
“Such illegally manufactured liquor while consuming may cause severe kind of disease to people”, SP Jugeschandra Haobijam said. He appealed the people not to practice such kind of illegal activities.
A case has been registered in Khongjom Police Station in connection of the manufacturing of illegal IMF liquor and police have started legal proceeding against the manufacturing of illegal liquor.
